It took a day of Mom and I shopping in Providence, but I finally found the perfect prom dress—a strapless floor-length gown with cascading ruffles in a rich violet fabric that illuminates with hints of pinks and blues. We lucked out in finding a pair of strappy heels in a deep silver-grey adorned with little flower shaped rhinestone clusters. The stunning ensemble screams royalty so much that Mom tried to buy me a gaudy tiara. Instead I talked her into a modest faux diamond pendant, matching earrings, and a mani-pedi for the same price. Thank God!
Though Christopher should be here at any moment I’ve been ready for hours, having begun my preparations as the clock struck two. Since I only curled my hair and repeatedly doted over make-up, the whole process took about fifty-five minutes, which means I have had over three hours to pace.
